Hello I am Yijia Xu. I am currently a graduate student in Iowa State University. My currently research focus is software engineering for safety critical systems.
Backgrounds
During my high school, I watched an F1 race in ShangHai International Circuit. I love the engine sound of the F1. From that time, I decided to design a fast and speedy car myself in the future. After earned my bachelor degree, I worked in Shanghai Automobile Gear Works, designing a new dual clutch transmission for cars. I’ve been working on automobile software including design, implement and testings for the past few years.
At Nov. 2012, our software was finally frozen and released. After realized my dream, I resigned and stepped on the next stage of my life. I came to USA and decided to live here.
Objectives
My career objective is to find a software development, testing or verification and validation (V&V) position that could utilize my skills to build a more robust and safe system.
Hobbies
During my spare time, I like walk and fly my drone. I like watching beautiful scene, especially from a different angle. I also like travel. My wife and I decide to visit one country every year.
Skills
I did a lot of projects and researches in a lot of areas. The advantage of the past experiences is I learnt a lot of technologies and languages. In the past three years, I mainly focuses on MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++ and python.
